On Monday, Aug. 31, Children’s Place Inc. held its annual fundraising event, Celebrity Waiter Night, in downtown Aiken and at several other locations.
Funds are generated through corporate sponsorships, tips from diners, and raffle ticket sales for a pair of diamond earrings donated by Floyd and Green Jewelers. While the 10 participating restaurants earn profits from all dining options, Children’s Place takes in all tips and donations from diners, which goes back into the Therapeutic Childcare Program.
On Monday, Aug. 31, Children’s Place Inc. held its annual fundraising event, Celebrity Waiter Night, in downtown Aiken and at several other locations.
Since 1994, Celebrity Waiter Night has been the largest annual fundraiser for Children’s Place.
Year after year, the Aiken community comes together to support the work Children’s Place does through its many programs, all of which aid the development of young children and their families.
Children’s Place Inc. encourages the public to leave notes of love and support for fathers every June on the sidewalks of Laurens Street, but this year the colorful chalk messages are shadowed by an overarching issue that has touched the lives of millions of people all over the world.
On Wednesday evening, more than 40 of the earliest donors to construction of the new home for Children’s Place, Inc. gathered in the repurposed 1880s church currently serving as classroom space and dining hall for a thank you reception and update on the status of its modern, purpose-built replacement.
Children’s Place, Inc. is asking the community to become Guardian Angels to support children in need in the Aiken area.
A benefit for Children’s Place, Inc. was held on Friday November 22nd at the Outing Club.

The event was sponsored by Missy Byrne, Ann Gillam, Molly Jones, Jennifer Parrott, Becky Reynolds and Cristi Williams.
