SRNS raises over $30,000 for Children’s Place with car hop event

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions recently raised over $30,000 in support of the Children’s Place Inc. Since 1994, Celebrity Waiter Night has been the largest fundraiser for Children’s Place, Inc. Annually, SRNS shows support for this non-profit through a private event for employees and their family members.

Bank of America donates masks to area nonprofits

AUGUSTA — Bank of America is partnering with more than 70 local organizations, leveraging an ongoing partnership with United Way of the Central Savannah River Area and United Way of Aiken County, to provide personal protective equipment, including 100,000 masks, to area residents. In Augusta and Aiken, which has experienced an increase in the number of coronavirus cases, Bank of America has been working to provide resources to vulnerable and underserved communities hit hardest by the coronavirus.

Celebrity Waiter Night 2020

On Monday, Aug. 31, Children’s Place Inc. held its annual fundraising event, Celebrity Waiter Night, in downtown Aiken and at several other locations.

Funds are generated through corporate sponsorships, tips from diners, and raffle ticket sales for a pair of diamond earrings donated by Floyd and Green Jewelers.  While the 10 participating restaurants earn profits from all dining options, Children’s Place takes in all tips and donations from diners, which goes back into the Therapeutic Childcare Program.
